What it is
Clear aligners are a series of thin, removable trays that move teeth a little at a time. You wear them most of the day and night and take them out to eat. We scan your teeth and show you a preview of how they are planned to move.
A check-in every 6 to 10 weeks. Many check-ins can be quick.
It may suit you if
- Crowding or gaps that bother you in photos
- Teeth that moved after braces years ago
- You want to straighten before veneers or bonding
- You prefer something you can take out
How it goes
Scan
A 3D scan, no goopy impressions, and a movement preview on screen.
Start
Your first trays and small tooth-coloured attachments where needed.
Check in
Short visits to check progress. New trays on schedule.
Retain
Retainers keep teeth where we put them. This step is not optional.
Your questions
Do aligners hurt?
Each new tray feels tight for a day or two. Most people describe pressure, not pain.
How many hours a day?
Most plans ask for around 22 hours a day. Results depend on wearing them.
Can I do this by mail instead?
You can, but no dentist checks your gums and bite in person. We would rather see you.
Talk clear aligners through with the dentist.
A 45 minute smile consult with the dentist. You leave with a written plan.
